There are literally so many easy ways to make money online. But this is only and only if you know what is easiest for you. This is because the easiest way to make money online is to find work that you love to do. The fact is that there is so many ways to make money online, but the term “easiest” is very subjective and varies from one person to the next.
There is a best way to make money, but it’s not what you might think.
There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of answers that other people will tell you about the best way to make money especially online. This is because there are as many different ways of making money as there are different kinds of people out there. The people that share their success story will share what worked for them, and that method is unique to them because they experimented with it themselves.
I will list some of the most popular ways to make money:
- affiliate marketing
- selling your own physical or digital products
- blogging and monetizing with ads
- investing in or trading stocks, bonds, options
- taking surveys for cash
- freelancing as in Fiverr, Upwork, or Freelancer
- and so on…
But the best way to make money will depend primarily on you. It will depend on what you are passionate about and what you are willing to work on for months, years or even decades to come.
In the beginning, you will have “Shiny Object Syndrome” because this is the stage at which you are discovering every option available to you on ways to make money. Whether that is reading up on other people’s stories and experiences, or experimenting with the methods yourself firsthand, you are looking for that money-making method that is best for you. But in the end you will need to experiment with each one and eventually find the one or two ways you can focus on and stick to for a long time to come.
This one method will be your favorite because it fits you personally. It fits you because of your personality and preferences. And this one method that best fits you personally is the best way to make money for you.
No matter what method of making money you end up choosing, there are fundamental principles generally that are needed to get any business going and these are:
- A platform (i.e. whether your website, or an outside site or store)
- Content (writing, verbal, or video, especially to inform and persuade)
- Traffic (people need to see what you have to offer)
- Monetization (a way to generate revenue)
Still though, for your further reading, one of the best things I can help you with is by sharing my own personal journey and experience with how I ended up making money online which you can read more about here.
I’ve studied a lot of different online business models since I was so interested in it in the past. I dabbled in some, but ultimately the best way to make money online that worked for me is what fit my personality best.
Truth: there are so many ways to make money online
For example, there are people making money online through selling their own products whether that is physical or digital. People are sourcing products from Alibaba and reselling on Amazon, for example. There are successful drop shippers as another example. Then there are people selling T-shirts like from Etsy or Teespring and then buying ads from Facebook to drive traffic to those T-shirt offers and they make money from that.
Then there are digital products like Dan Lok for example who sell their own courses online. And you can literally find thousands of courses now on sites like Udemy or even ClickBank.
And then still there are others that are making money selling other people’s physical and/or digital products. This is called affiliate marketing. Usually, these affiliate marketers already have a list of people they can market to. But otherwise, there are other methods of building that list such as with joint ventures or through paid ad traffic. Some even use completely free traffic such as search engine traffic through SEO but that takes time and effort to generate traffic from SEO.
Some people even make money taking surveys for cash. I don’t know if it works since I have not done it, but I have heard people make at least some money from it. You should do your own research and due diligence on this and of course always be wary of fraudulent activity.
If that is not enough, there are people making money online lending money to other people, sometimes not even their own money. They make money from the fees and interest paid back to them. And what is crazy to me is that there are a few people actually getting paid to click on ads. Some make money as Youtubers getting a lot of views then displaying ads, and others putting out songs that other people love and buy or sell tickets to live events.
Still not enough for you? There are people making money on stocks, bonds, and/or options. This takes knowledge that I don’t have and risk taking plus capital. And you probably have heard of cryptocurrency going around and I don’t doubt some people are making money from that, whether it is people selling courses on cryptocurrencies or not.
There are also people making money brokering businesses and websites like on BizBuySell, Flippa, or Empireflippers. Or people buying these businesses and websites then flipping them by making them more valuable by improving revenue and then selling them back into the market for profit.
What about people that make money playing video games. Look at Twitch streamers and look how many paid subscribers the popular ones get and look at the views they get and you can guesstimate the ad revenue they get as Twitch partners. Not to mention the pro gamers who compete in professional tournaments like my favorite video game Starcraft Broodwar or Starcraft 2, or other games like League of Legends, and they get sponsored by their team or other big brands like the RedBull energy drink.
You can also freelance your way to online income such as with Fiverr, Upwork, or Freelancer with services like writing, logo design, web or app development, and others.
Study all the methods then ask: which way is easiest and most enjoyable for you
But before you choose the best online business model for you, you need to really expose yourself to know all the different possible ways to make money online, and then choose the best one for you that you will love and you know that you will be able to stick with for a long time to come.
Because the fact of the matter is that making money whether online or offline takes work and it takes time. You need to stick with that method long enough for it to start bringing you a profit. Any work is made easy if you love what you do and you are passionate about what you do and do not mind doing it all day every day.
A typical example of how long it takes to start making money and choosing whether it is right for you
Take having a regular job like as a cashier for example. To make money as a cashier first you have to decide that you want to apply as a cashier at a store. Then, you make your resume, and then you have to blast your resume to different employers. Then you have to wait until you are invited for interviews. After that you prepare for that interview, get some nice suit and tie to dress up for that interview, prepare copies of your resume, and invest time and some money to go to that interview. After a while then, the employer will contact you if you get hired for the job. How much time has passed since you decided you want to apply as a cashier at this point? About one or two months. And then you still haven’t gotten paid yet.
So, the next step then to getting paid as a cashier is to start your first day on the job. The first week most likely will require a lot of hands-on training on the job perhaps shadowing a fellow employee, then getting to know the staff, and getting acquainted with the customers. Then to be added to payroll, you need to submit your payment information, and usually for first time employees on the job, the payment verification of some sort needs to be processed so your first payment is delayed about a month after starting your first day on the job. After about a month now, you got your first paycheck.
In the end, you have to ask yourself, how long in total did it take to land that job, work on the job, and finally get paid my first paycheck?
Then there is the question of do you like that job as a cashier and do you see yourself doing that job for a long time to come? If the answer is yes, then most likely you will enjoy doing that job long enough to make more paychecks. But if the answer is no, you will be so uncomfortable at that job as a cashier that you will want to find other money-making methods and leave that job for a job that better fits your personality and work preferences.
The better question is: do you like how you make money online?
So in the end you need to try our the money making method for yourself before you can make a conclusive decision whether that is the easiest money making method for you. This is firsthand experimentation and it is the only way to find out if you are a good fit for that job or business.
This is because if you ask other people what is the easiest money-making method, then they will tell you what is the easiest money making method for THEM personally and specifically. What they will tell you is their own personal experience with experimenting with different ways to make money.
Some will tell you the easiest way is through affiliate marketing. Some will tell you it is with blogging. Then some others will tell you it is creating your own product and having affiliates sell for you. And even still there are others that will tell you taking surveys for cash is the easiest way to make money online. These people share these with you because it is what worked for them and what, in their perception, they found easy to do.
But in the end, what did you get? All you got are different methods for you to try. So in the end, you still need to try these different methods for yourself and see for yourself if they work and whether they are easy for you or not. Unless you have firsthand knowledge and experience trying it out with your very own eyes and hands, then you will just simply not know.
Benefits of being online
Online specifically offers people a lot of benefits. Most people that want to make money online want the freedom and flexibility that being able to work from home or remotely anywhere in the world through just a computer such as desktop or laptop as long as they have an internet connection.
On top of that, usually the money-making methods online offer unlimited income potential. This is because in reality online income methods are really businesses. As someone looking to make money online, the internet is the medium for the startup business you want to start. The only problem is that business in general is competitive and it takes a certain barrier to entry to start driving customers to your business and generating revenue.
So again with the question of what is the easiest way to make money online, it is a very tricky question. This is because ultimately all money-making methods whether online or offline take a lot of hard work. It is just that the type of work that fits you is what makes it the easiest. Look at your strengths and weaknesses and then see what money-making method works for you personally.
My personal experience
I will share my own experience as an example, and I hope you can take something out of it. I love writing for example and getting paid for the word makes this work online easy for me. I remember in my master’s degree where I would write so much in terms of papers, and discussion posts. Then I wondered one day, what if I got paid to do this? What if I got paid to do the writing, I am already doing in school in my master’s program?
So, I came across online publishing and self-publishing, otherwise known as blogging. It’s basically like having your own mini magazine, journal, or newspaper online that other people can read. Then I monetize that by displaying ads. Those ads are paid typically by big brands that have budgets to spend on ads to drive awareness or traffic to their brands. I make decent money from it, but the best part is that it feels easy because I am already doing work that I love. So, to answer the question above, the easiest way to make money online for me is creating content and publishing content online that people consume on a regular basis.
In the future I plan to branch out selling my own products and services priced preferably high so it makes my time worth while. In fact, I already have products up for sale on my sites, but ad revenue is still my primary income source, and I like it that way because ad revenue is so stable for me in my experience.
No matter what money making method you end up trying to see what is easiest and best for you though, you have to remember to always take risk into account and always be careful not to risk too much at the beginning. Try it out with minimal resources first such as time and capital before going full gear on the method. Don’t burn out all your money in one risky investment. It is just not worth it. If one money-making method proves fruitful for you and you end up being passionate about that method, then by all means double down on that method and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
